19:02:20 <DavidWHodgins> #topic * Who's new? - If you are then come and say hello
19:02:38 <DavidWHodgins> Anyone here who hasn't been to a qa team irc meeting before?
19:02:59 <DavidWHodgins> #topic * Vacation Season
19:03:18 <andi89gi> well - I guess some of you know me ;)
19:03:27 <wilcal> Holland moves o Portugal
19:04:04 <DavidWHodgins> In Canada, with 80% of adults now having had one dose, and 60% fully vaccinated, things are starting to open up again. Finally!
19:04:53 <Bequimao> No vacations here. I am staying in Brazil. Nobody wants us.
19:05:01 <wilcal> Canada/USA border is openng soon, maybe
19:05:05 <benmc> except for border, we have been "open" for ages
19:05:25 <andi89gi> 2x vaccinated ;)
19:05:26 <andi89gi> Germany
19:05:26 <DavidWHodgins> So that means there will be people going on vacation and doing more out side of the home things. Just means those that are still participating have to do a little more
19:05:51 <DavidWHodgins> Canada is opening it's border. U.S. is waiting another month.
19:05:58 <brian_> :0)
19:05:59 <HDR> fully vaccinated too :)
19:06:03 <benmc> good luck with that Dve
19:06:31 <DavidWHodgins> I'm fully vaccinated, so should be ok even if I do end up getting covid
19:06:44 <HDR> i'll enjoy bar, restaurants in summer
19:07:19 <DavidWHodgins> Anyway, let's move on.
19:07:22 <DavidWHodgins> #topic * Testing and using Mageia 8
19:07:46 <wilcal> For me M8 has been amazingly stable
19:07:56 <HDR> For me too
19:08:06 <DavidWHodgins> Any new problems noticed or updates causing concern at http://madb.mageia.org/tools/updates ?
19:08:09 <[mbot> Mageia App Db - Current Update candidates
19:08:13 <wilcal> All the little wrinkles I had with M7 are gone
19:08:34 <andi89gi> M8 is stable for me
19:09:12 <benmc> wilcal: were those DE wrinkles or Mageia wrinkles
19:09:16 <wilcal> New Vbox test for fun
19:09:50 <wilcal> They were had to put my finger on. More irritants then anything
19:09:54 <DavidWHodgins> Yeah. With vb, don't just test existing guests, but be sure to test creating new ones too.
19:10:04 <Bequimao> Bug #29252
19:10:29 <wilcal> Ok Dave. which would be suspect.
19:10:43 <DavidWHodgins> Leaving out the # as in bug 29252 will allow [mbot to add the subject
19:10:45 <[mbot> Bug: ['libvirt new security issue CVE-2021-3631', 'NEW', 'QA Team'] https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29252
19:10:57 <wilcal> Netinstall, install from Live- media or legacy iso
19:11:42 <Bequimao> DavidWHodgins, you have set this bug as feedback, Here everything is ok.
19:12:01 <DavidWHodgins> The libvirt package works, but if it's installed while libvirt is enabled but not running, it hangs mgaapplet
19:12:35 <DavidWHodgins> As in the update fails to install in that case
19:12:35 <Bequimao> Probably missing rights.
19:13:16 <benmc> wet weekend coming for me, so hopefully some kernel testing- real 32 bit hardware...etc
19:13:51 <DavidWHodgins> The scriplet is trying to restart the libvirt-guests.service, but instead of timing out it just hangs waiting for something that will never happen
19:14:13 <Bequimao> But if you start with virt-manager or libvirt, you'll encounter problems of missing rights. Not well dokumented in Mageia.
19:14:24 <DavidWHodgins> Likely improper settings in the systemd config file for it
19:14:45 <HDR> I use everyday libvirt 3.2.0 and Qemu/Kvm without problems
19:14:56 <wilcal> Easyest for me would be to install from x86_64 Plasma Live-DVD to blank rea drive then update
19:14:57 <DavidWHodgins> So bad permissions and bad error handling
19:16:12 <DavidWHodgins> I had previously tested libvirt, hence it was enabled, however I'd removed the guest installs after the prior testing hence it was enabled, but not in use.
19:17:31 <DavidWHodgins> That type of error, leaving mgaapplet hanging will cause problems for people who don't know how to track it down and run "killall virsh".
19:17:42 <Bequimao> I am using Virt-Manager and have tested all updates in the past, also spice which is in the list.
19:17:54 <Bequimao> No idea what to do.
19:19:01 <Bequimao> libvirt and virsh are anything but trivial.
19:19:23 <DavidWHodgins> That's why I've added the feedback tag. The libvirt-guests.sh stop needs to be fixed to only run the virsh comand if there are guests to stop
19:20:48 <Bequimao> libvirt.guests is disabled by default in a running system.
19:21:38 <DavidWHodgins> Yes, but as I said I'd previously used it, and while I'd removed the guests, I forgot to disable the service.
19:22:41 <DavidWHodgins> I've added a comment explainging what I mean to the bug report
19:23:49 <DavidWHodgins> Any other problematic updates to discuss?
19:24:02 <HDR> no
19:24:15 <DavidWHodgins> #topic * Anything else?
19:24:31 <DavidWHodgins> Nothing else from me today
19:24:40 <brian_> nothing from me
