The mcc and midori bugs are fixed. 19:14:15 <alfred__> yes, just testing the latest live dvd 19:14:21 <MrsB> \o/ 19:14:23 <DavidWHodgins> I've synced todays live iso images, but haven't tested them yet. 19:14:28 <MrsB> we must be nearly there now? 19:14:47 <DavidWHodgins> Very close I think. Just need a few more hours to retest everything. 19:14:49 <Led43_Mag1> DavidWHodgins: i found the midori bug still there 19:15:02 <Led43_Mag1> in the dual 19:15:02 <MrsB> can we all make use of the pad please so we know who is doing what and can make sure everything has now been tested 19:15:09 <Edux_099> my virtual box was broken after installing guest additions 19:15:14 <Edux_099> (install) 19:15:26 <DavidWHodgins> Led43_Mag1: With 91c7f79ce588fca37b1c965020473c2e Mageia-3-alpha2-dual-CD.iso ? 19:16:09 <DavidWHodgins> Led43_Mag1: That's the md5 of the latest dual. 19:16:10 <Led43_Mag1> DavidWHodgins: yep 19:16:12 <MrsB> Edux_099: how did you install guest additions? 19:16:33 <Edux_099> hmmm, with the iso 19:16:44 <DavidWHodgins> Edux_099: Which iso? 19:16:47 <MrsB> which ISO was it? 19:16:51 <Led43_Mag1> DavidWHodgins: on my 32bit qa box, wil test it on the 64bit box later or in morning 19:16:53 <Edux_099> special one 19:17:15 <Edux_099> in virtual box there is an option 19:17:23 <DavidWHodgins> Led43_Mag1: I just finished both 32 and 64 bit installs under vb, and midori worked on both. 19:17:47 <Led43_Mag1> this was on real iron 19:17:59 <MrsB> ahh so it downloaded from the website? 19:18:55 <Edux_099> I think yes 19:19:17 <Led43_Mag1> DavidWHodgins: it got as far as almost loading the mag home page before dying 19:19:20 <Edux_099> VBoxGuestAdditions_4.1.18.iso 49.7MB 19:19:24 <DavidWHodgins> Edux_099: The installer should detect that it's running under vb and install the vboxadditions-kernel module automatically. 19:19:40 <Edux_099> it didn't 19:19:51 <MrsB> which ISO were you testing? 19:19:57 <DavidWHodgins> Led43_Mag1: I wonder if it's some sort of networking problem then? 19:20:00 <Edux_099> DVD x86_64 Gnome 19:20:08 <MrsB> it maybe did if the ones from the website corrupted it 19:20:23 <MrsB> LiveDVD or Classic DVD? 19:20:28 <Edux_099> classic 19:20:46 <MrsB> That's something we need to check then 19:20:46 <tmb> well, vbox drivers in cauldron are 4.2.0, so it get problematic... 19:20:48 <Led43_Mag1> DavidWHodgins: i ran it from a cli and it was moaning about missing bits again 19:21:20 <MrsB> tmb ? 19:21:48 <Latte> I had no problems with the classic DVD x86_64 in VB 19:21:57 <N9NU> i have not found anything that prevents the 64 bit dvd iso from installing via a default install (KDE) and custom install....only the Amarok library seg-fault issue 19:22:24 <Edux_099> me too, but I needed it for gnome 3 19:22:26 <alfred__> seriouspb here with recognition of HD on my older MSI nobo 19:22:29 <Led43_Mag1> i did a vbox install of Mageia-3-alpha2-dual-CD.iso NP 19:22:32 <tmb> MrsB: there are prebuilt vbox drivers in cauldron, wich might get installed, so if you install an older ones too I assume they will conflict... 19:23:22 <Edux_099> (that was for latte) 19:23:26 <MrsB> tmb so installing vbox additions other than what should already be installed when installing into vbox is likely to cause problems? Is that correct? 19:23:37 <DavidWHodgins> I guess it depends on which version of virtualbox the host is running, as to whether or not the guest will have problems. 19:24:12 <Led43_Mag1> oh i did not install its guest addons 19:24:21 <MrsB> we should check it is installing them when installed into vbox i guess too 19:24:35 <Edux_099> the iso is for version 4.1.18 and I have the same version for the host 19:24:36 <tmb> DavidWHodgins: that's how it should work, but I'm not sure it always does... 19:25:10 <N9NU> There is a issue with the Systemsettings---Login Screen---KDM Theme selection page when trying to download/add new themes. Problem: None of the new themes you download show up in the list...this is been going on for a few years now. The solution: A simple chmod x+o command to edit the folder permissions solves the problem....this applies to any version of the A3 release 19:25:22 <tmb> and live* have the prebuilt 19:25:28 <Edux_099> I had warning messages but... you know lol 19:25:36 <tmb> and live* have the prebuilt vboxadditions installed... 19:25:43 <MrsB> N9NU: have you made a bug for that? 19:26:18 <N9NU> i submitted it to bugs.kde.org...i guess its welll know, but they dont/didnt do anything abt it 19:26:29 <N9NU> have not submitted it to Mageia bugs 19:26:52 <MrsB> N9NU: Could you create a bug on our bugzilla too please against cauldron and add 3alpha2 into the whiteboard 19:27:04 <DavidWHodgins> N9NU: Submit it to Mageia, with a link to the kde report. Could be fixed by a Mageia patch till upstream fixes it. 19:27:34 <N9NU> sure thing....one just needs to chmod x+o to the folder /usr/apps/kdm/themes/ folder 19:27:43 <Edux_099> I could repeat the situation, install the iso(classic dvd) again and reporting the message. 19:27:51 <Edux_099> *report 19:27:53 <MrsB> that sounds like a packaging issue 19:29:16 <MrsB> #info could we all please have a final push to test the new ISOs from today so we can hopefully get them released. 19:29:24 <Edux_099> ok 19:29:42 <MrsB> #info please make good use of the pad so we know what is being tested and what still hasn't been 19:29:52 <DavidWHodgins> For the iso testing of an alpha, I think all we need to validate is that a default install gets a working system. While it's nice to catch other bugs sooner rather then later, they can wait till after alpha 2 is released. 19:30:18 <MrsB> yes, but all bugs should be reported please 19:30:56 <MrsB> small bugs obviously won't delay the release at alpha stage 19:31:11 <MrsB> if you find any major ones then please let tmb or ennael know 19:31:32 * MrsB grumbles about intel laptops 19:32:19 <MrsB> are there any comments or questions about this? 19:32:39 <DavidWHodgins> After the meeting, I'll be retesting all iso images on real hardware. Shouldn't take more than a few hours on this system, but I'll be offline from the pad and irc during that time. 19:33:09 <MrsB> thanks Dave 19:33:30 <N9NU> will re-test the 64 bit DVD as well...with the new release 19:33:46 <MrsB> let's move on then. 19:33:48 <DavidWHodgins> #topic Luigi's Roundup 19:34:03 <MrsB> Luigi12_work: ping? 19:34:29 <DavidWHodgins> inn should be interesting to test. :-) 19:34:39 <MrsB> yes, right up your street that one 19:35:01 <DavidWHodgins> Never used it before, but I have a pretty good idea what's involved. 19:35:08 <Edux_099> oh, I forgot, blender 2.64 was released 19:35:29 <N9NU> Firefox 16 as well ;) 19:35:48 <rindolf> And valgrind-3.8.1. 19:35:50 <MrsB> lots of stuff is released, it'll get updated in cauldron 19:35:53 <DavidWHodgins> We have a pile of security bugs to validate again. 19:35:57 <MrsB> yep 19:36:15 <MrsB> Luigi12_ has been busy making a list for us again :D 19:36:26 <Latte> N9NU: Firefox 10.0.8 is the Firefox 16 19:36:30 <MrsB> no wonder he's hiding ;) 19:36:33 <N9NU> heh 19:36:40 <DavidWHodgins> Firefox 16 got pulled, shortly after release. I don't know if our version has the new bug or not. 19:36:51 <N9NU> it did? 19:36:59 <DavidWHodgins> Yep 19:37:02 <Edux_099> I think you know firefox 16 has a security bug. 19:37:05 <MrsB> there was discussion on the dev ML about it 19:37:13 <Latte> DavidWHodgins: I saw that this morning 19:37:22 <Edux_099> ops, sorry Dave. 19:37:29 <MrsB> it was even on the bbc website 19:37:33 <N9NU> woops. i guess i still have that version installed...according to the About screen 19:38:12 <MrsB> I think we're going to have to skip the roundup. 19:38:26 <DavidWHodgins> http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html#firefox16 19:38:27 <[mbot> [ Security Advisories for Firefox ] 19:38:50 <MrsB> As soon as we get the alpha out of the door we'll need to have another push on security updates by the looks of things 19:39:06 <DavidWHodgins> #topic Anything else? 19:39:20 <MrsB> Is there anything else? 19:40:07 <DavidWHodgins> Just a quick reminder. To test 32 bit dual on 64 bit hardware, hold down the shift key, while booting, then type in 32, press enter twice, and then proceed as normal. 19:40:08 <Latte> I looked at most of the security updates but nearly all of them I have no clue how to check them 19:40:29 <MrsB> I added some procedures for 2 or 3 of them 19:40:50 <Edux_099> Latte: me too lol 19:41:03 <Latte> MrsB: I saw it 19:41:12 <Latte> and I will check 19:41:27 <MrsB> freeradius and openasf I think basic testing only, just testing the commands seem to work ok. They look quite complex to set up properly to test fully. 19:41:35 <tmb> the firefox-16 bug does not affect 10.0.8 ESR... and firefox 16.0.1 is being released upstream as we speak... 19:41:41 <DavidWHodgins> From my look at what's on the list, there are quite a few that are high priority, in terms of possible impact. 19:41:47 <MrsB> openafs even 19:41:59 <DavidWHodgins> tmb: Thanks for the update. 19:42:06 <MrsB> thanks tmb 19:42:24 <MrsB> #info Firefox 16 bug does not affect FF 10.0.8 ESR in Mga2 19:42:41 <DavidWHodgins> I've tested openafs before, so should have the procedure in the closed bug report. 19:43:22 <MrsB> #info DavidWHodgins tested openafs last time so there may be a procedure in the old bug report, just click the bugzilla link on the madb page 19:44:17 <MrsB> So can we prioritise the ISO testing please and lets get it released, then straight away we need to have a push on security updates as they are starting to build up. 19:44:44 <rindolf> MrsB: OK. 19:44:50 <MrsB> If there is nothing else let's close? 19:44:57 <DavidWHodgins> https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1034 19:44:59 <[mbot> Bug 1034: critical, High, qa-bugs, RESOLVED FIXED, validated_update, libafs module installation failed after update, libafs-1.4.14-1.mga1 19:45:05 <MrsB> ok for everybody? 19:45:10 <rindolf> OK for me. 19:45:16 <DavidWHodgins> Go ahead. 19:45:17 <N9NU> yup 19:45:20 <alfred__> ok 19:45:24 <Latte> ok 19:45:26 * DavidWHodgins forgets the close command. :_) 19:45:28 <swecarp> ok 19:45:50 <MrsB> Thankyou all for coming. A short one \o/. Welcome to the QA team N9NU. Same time next week! 19:45:58 <MrsB> #endmeeting
