20:09:31 <ennael> so another council dedicated to coming Mageia 5
20:09:37 <ennael> thanks all for attending
20:10:52 <MrsB> o/
20:11:06 <MrsB> not many of us here today
20:11:11 <ennael> yep
20:11:23 <ennael> so we may be able to make it short :)
20:11:41 <ennael> ok QA team, want to review first isos tests?
20:12:11 <MrsB> there was alot of feedback and many installer issues, which I understand are mostly now fixed
20:13:05 <MrsB> there are still one or two like the details screen not scrolling
20:13:33 <MrsB> dualdvd had issues, fixed in next ones i believe
20:13:51 <ennael> I hope so yes
20:14:24 <MrsB> mcc quitting has been widely discussed on qa-d
20:14:56 <ennael> yep and it seems luc proposal seems to fix this
20:15:08 <ennael> just need some more feedbacks/tests
20:15:14 <MrsB> I'd like us to include hexchat in gnome & lxde installs as IRC is needed by mageiawelcome and it tries to install hexchat if none are present
20:15:14 <tmb> the ones in updates_testing ?
20:15:33 <ennael> yep
20:15:56 <MrsB> no efi related moans recently, which is a good sign
20:16:04 <DavidWHodgins> Yep
20:16:19 <tmb> or people have given up ...
20:16:22 * tmb hides
20:16:27 <DavidWHodgins> lol
20:16:28 <MrsB> lol nooo surely not
20:16:40 <ennael> :)
20:16:49 <MrsB> I'll prod for efi feedback with next ISOs
20:17:00 <ennael> MrsB: so can you ensure we have some feedbacks for mcc bug?
20:17:14 <ennael> I've asked for some in bugzilla
20:17:25 <MrsB> Ok, i'll find the bug after
20:17:43 <ennael> if it's ok then we can move it to release for next set of isos
20:18:02 <DavidWHodgins> I think Luc's updates testing fix should be included in the next set of isos.
20:18:30 <ennael> https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15375
20:18:32 <[mbot> [ Bug 15375 M5B3 MCC windows not closing properly (gtk+2.0-2.24.26 regression) ]
20:19:38 <DavidWHodgins> We've had one report confirming it fixes the problem, with no regressions, so I think it would be safe to include them.
20:20:26 <MrsB> Added something to the bug. I'll mail the list too
20:20:42 <ennael> wilcal (hope it's him :)) can also test it
20:20:50 <ennael> would be nice to have his feedbacks
20:21:36 <MrsB> I think we're at a stage now we're ready to test next ISOs but let's get some feedback for that one yeah
20:22:11 <MrsB> tmb: did you track down the draklive issue?
20:22:23 <MrsB> morning wilcal
20:22:24 <ennael> gtk updates are always a pain
20:22:37 <wilcal> After noon better late then never
20:22:50 <DavidWHodgins> Hi wilcal
20:22:52 <MrsB> It might be worth moving the installer to qt
20:23:18 <MrsB> wilcal could you try the mcc fix please https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15375
20:23:20 <[mbot> [ Bug 15375 M5B3 MCC windows not closing properly (gtk+2.0-2.24.26 regression) ]
20:23:31 <DavidWHodgins> What happened to the project to make drakx tools run with gtk, or qt, or curses?
20:23:46 <MrsB> ongoing, mga6 target i think
20:23:47 <ennael> MrsB: please don't propose that on ML :)
20:24:03 <DavidWHodgins> :-)
20:24:16 <wilcal> will do
20:24:19 <MrsB> thanks
20:24:20 <ennael> thanks wilcal
20:25:48 <Akien> Hi there (reading backlog)
20:26:10 <MrsB> morning Akien
20:27:13 <ennael> ok anything else ?
20:27:15 <DavidWHodgins> I haven't opened a bug report about it, but one thing I noticed, was that when adding media at the end of the install, there is now no feedback. It took long enough, I thought my network connection was probably down again, but then it finished, just as I was about to abort it.
20:27:33 <MrsB> we're slowly moving away from the 'omg everything is broken' comments to the 'this bit isn't working right' and 'this icon is missing'
20:27:42 <ennael> :)
20:28:26 <wilcal> on real hardware how we do'n with UEFI?
20:28:54 <DavidWHodgins> wilcal: Recent feedback has been good so far.
20:29:13 <MrsB> bit of a lack of feedback really, which is probably a good sign. I asked Vlad and Lewis to track it but lewis is away this week. I'll ask Vlad how it's looking
20:29:37 <MrsB> he gave a good summary previously
20:31:12 <ennael> thanks wilcal input on pending bugs?
20:31:16 <ennael> raaaa
20:31:26 <ennael> tmb: any input on pending bugs?
20:31:31 * ennael needs new fingers
20:31:56 <MrsB> there has been a bit of frustration with testers not seeing the bugs getting fixed so I think the next ISOs will be welcomed. I know there has been good progress
20:32:47 <tmb> tbh, I haven't done much since last qa meeting due to funeral last weekend
20:33:10 <DavidWHodgins> Ouch
20:33:20 <ennael> tmb: all my condolences btw...
20:33:25 <MrsB> sorry to hear it, yes
20:33:33 <wilcal> no problem I try to do something meaningful every day
20:34:58 <MrsB> there was one report of a kde install not able to shut down after resuming from sleep
20:35:17 <MrsB> shutdown from cli but not menu
20:36:52 <ennael> bug number ?
20:37:12 <MrsB> unknown, report from Brian Rockwell
20:39:45 <ennael> just saw your mail
20:39:46 <ennael> thanks
20:40:12 <ennael> looks like also gnome-icon bug should be solved and upgrade issue also
20:40:34 <MrsB> ok. If there are any issues like that just let me know
20:40:48 <ennael> ok
20:40:57 <MrsB> yes, hope so. I found testing difficult due to 195 failed transactions
20:41:04 <MrsB> bug for that somewhere
20:41:08 <ennael> yep
20:41:58 <ennael> anything else for testing?
20:42:23 <MrsB> thierry added a fix for perl-URPM so it should now report the correct package when there is a "scriptlet failed"
20:42:33 <ennael> ok
20:42:37 <DavidWHodgins> That should help
20:42:40 <MrsB> yeah
20:42:58 <MrsB> he's been busy recently
20:43:18 <MrsB> think we're just ready for new isos now ennael really
20:43:44 <ennael> yep just waiting for gtk from testing then it should be ok
20:43:49 <ennael> so we wait for wilcal test :)
20:43:56 <MrsB> yep
20:44:07 <wilcal> should be through it by this evening California time
20:44:45 <wilcal> did that package just get put in the M5 repo?
20:44:51 <DavidWHodgins> wilcal: So within 9 hours?
20:44:57 <wilcal> Easy
20:45:24 <wilcal> By morning European time I should be through it
20:45:29 <MrsB> cool, thanks
20:45:52 <ennael> great
20:45:54 <DavidWHodgins> wilcal: It's been there since yesterday.
20:46:18 <DavidWHodgins> In the cauldron core updates_testing repo.
20:47:10 <DavidWHodgins> Just install the *gtk* packages, from that repo.
20:49:22 <wilcal> gtk+2.0-2.24.26-2.mga5.i586.rpm
20:49:55 <DavidWHodgins> and the 4 lib{64}gtk* packages
20:50:26 <MrsB> rpms listed here https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15375#c14
20:50:28 <[mbot> [ Bug 15375 M5B3 MCC windows not closing properly (gtk+2.0-2.24.26 regression) ]
20:50:49 <ennael> ok anything else ?
20:51:01 <MrsB> all done, i think
20:51:16 <MrsB> lxde slow shutdown issue maybe
20:51:17 <wilcal> got it
20:51:23 <MrsB> ordering syscle
20:51:26 <MrsB> cycle
20:52:03 <MrsB> https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15168
20:52:05 <[mbot> [ Bug 15168 5beta3: LXDE takes several minutes to shutdown/reboot (ordering cycle on display-manager-failure.service/start) ]
20:55:51 <ennael> ok
20:55:54 <Akien> This might need pinging colin
20:56:00 <ennael> indeed
20:56:59 <Akien> I'll see if I can reproduce, I think I have a LXDE VM
20:57:09 <MrsB> there was a btrfs issue in installer which will need Thomas input butthere is time for that yet
20:57:57 <Akien> What about vlad's big issues with the diskdrake auto-partitioning?
20:58:37 <Akien> It seems pretty critical since there could be important data loss
20:58:45 <Akien> Did he open a bug report for it?
20:59:28 <MrsB> not sure which you mean?
21:00:03 <Akien> https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15242
21:00:05 <[mbot> [ Bug 15242 Suggested safety and usability improvements for installer (partitioner) in Mga5 Beta 3 Release 2(Classical iso) ]
21:00:28 <Akien> "Specifically, if the user selects a particular disk for partitioning, and invokes either the 'use entire disk' or 'auto-allocate', the partitioner can decide to use a disk other than the one selected by the user, without warning. The 'use entire disk' is particularly dangerous as it does the damage immediately and with no prior warning of any kind."
21:01:42 <MrsB> no work on it yet by the look of it
21:01:50 <Akien> I see vlad added a mention to the errata
21:02:41 <Akien> ennael seems to say it will have to wait for mga6
21:03:13 <MrsB> So it seems more that the partitioner touches disks it's not told to touch
21:03:21 <wilcal> And I think UEFI further complicates this
21:04:08 <MrsB> create a separate bug for it akien. The current bug contains too much info really, needs narrower focus
21:05:54 <Akien> MrsB: True, I was about to CC tv but such a bug might bug him :-p
21:06:00 <MrsB> so we still have release blockers but there should now be visible progress
21:06:09 <MrsB> yes he'll ask for separate bugs
21:06:52 <Akien> I'll ask vlad to create separate bugs (as ennael said the current one is a nice basis for suggestions for the mga6 specs, but hard to work with)
21:07:12 <MrsB> you brought it up :P
21:08:31 <Akien> It's his bug :-p
21:08:38 <ennael> :)
21:09:20 <ennael> ok are we done for this meeting?
21:09:37 <wilcal> I need to go get Groceries :-))
21:09:37 <DavidWHodgins> I'm running a kde x86_64 install, and will test the mcc closing bug shortly.
21:09:44 <MrsB> think so, yes. I'll be available in the mornign for any early tests
21:09:53 <ennael> ok
21:10:00 <ennael> wilcal: we wait for your tests :)
21:10:07 <ennael> thanks everybody for attending
21:10:25 <ennael> let's go back to release hell :)
21:10:25 <MrsB> thanks anne
